His Session was a masterclass in innovation, offering profound insights about the WordPress platform. He presented WordPress Statistics and highlighted how WordPress tops the table when creating and hosting the website.

The WordPress market share is on a rocket ship, with an estimated Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 17.9% from 2021 to 2025. Also, the wordpress data report suggest that e n beyond, it’s projected to maintain a robust CAGR of 10.3% by 2028. This meteoric rise is reflected in the fact that a staggering 45% of websites today utilize WordPress, up from less than 15% just a decade ago.

With over 80 million sites under its belt, WordPress reigns supreme as the most popular Content Management System (CMS), commanding a whopping 72.7% of the market. In comparison, Wix and Shopify trail behind at 13.6% and 7.2%, respectively.

When it comes to hosting, WebPros stands tall as a trusted ally in the WordPress universe. In fact, a significant chunk of WordPress sites is managed by WebPros solutions. Notably, WordPress.com leads the pack as the largest WordPress Hosting provider, closely followed by Newfold Digital. Cloudflare, meanwhile, plays a stealthy role, concealing 18% of WordPress sites.

Control Panels

Delving into the tech side, cPanel emerges as the go-to control panel for a quarter of WordPress sites, with Plesk capturing 5%. Surprisingly, a whopping 71% of WordPress sites operate without any panel, showcasing the diverse approaches to site management.

 

Agency Impact

Zooming out to the ecosystem, WebPros’ review of over 300 agencies paints a revealing picture. A staggering 60% of websites are developed by these agencies, underlining their pivotal role in shaping the digital landscape.

Most of the interviewed agencies generate revenue from web development, maintenance, hosting SEO. As referred to the below image around 54.55% of the business have web development as their main source of revenue, 44.16% have maintenance as the main source of their revenue and so on.
