Cloud Computing Explained

Understanding Its Types

Cloud computing is a technology that enables users to access and use computing resources over the internet, often referred to as "the cloud."

Types of Cloud Computing

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

In IaaS, cloud providers offer virtualized computing resources over the internet. Users can rent virtual machines, storage, and networking infrastructure on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Platform as a Service (PaaS)

PaaS delivers a platform that includes both hardware and software tools, allowing developers to build, deploy, and manage applications without dealing with the complexities of infrastructure.

Software as a Service (SaaS)

SaaS delivers software applications over the internet on a subscription basis. Users can access the software through a web browser without needing to install or maintain it locally.

Public Cloud

Public cloud services are provided by third-party vendors and are hosted and operated off-site, allowing users to access computing resources over the internet.

Private Cloud

Private clouds are dedicated to a single organization. They can be hosted on premises or by a third-party provider.
