Day zero

CloudFest 2024 kicked off with Day Zero, focusing on the technologies shaping the cloud. Aligning with the CloudFest Hackathon, it spotlighted AlmaLinux, WordPress, and AI. WP Day brought open-source developers together to advance WordPress, while AlmaLinux Day fostered deep engagement on this enterprise-grade OS.

The Intel AI Summit delivered rapid-fire sessions on AI’s growing role in cloud computing, with Stephan Gillich noting the overwhelming interest in AI integration. The day ended on a high note with the Come2Gather in the Streets party, transforming Europa-Park’s main plaza into a celebration of innovation and community.

Day 1

A compelling session with Eliot Higgins (Bellingcat) examined the role of cloud professionals in ensuring online truth and security. Meanwhile, the debut of the World Server Throwing Championship added a fun, competitive edge to the event.

Day 3

Prof. Nii Narku Quaynor – The pioneer of Africa’s first commercial internet connectivity. 

Paul Mockapetris – Inventor of the Domain Name System, Steve Crocker – A key figure in the ARPANET project, the foundation of the modern internet.
